BIRMINGHAM, AL (October 19, 2022) – Breaux Bridge, Louisiana, has selected Retail Strategies, the leading national community development firm, to create and execute a retail recruitment plan.

The city will receive a tailored retail recruitment plan through partnership-based and in-depth market analysis, consumer analysis, and proactive retail and broker outreach by the Retail Strategies team. Lyndsey Bailey and Harlan Winn will support the Breaux Bridge team by performing a boots-on-the-ground market tour to identify areas for potential economic growth. The next step is to create a retail recruitment plan and begin proactive outreach to specific retail real estate professionals including property owners, brokers, and developers.

Breaux Bridge is just east of Lafayette on Interstate 10 with a population of approximately 8,000 and is the largest city in St. Martin Parish. Breaux Bridge restaurants were the first to offer crawfish openly on their menus, and it was here that the now world-famous crawfish etouffee was created. Breaux Bridge became so well known for its crawfish farming and cooking that, in honor of its centennial celebration in 1959, the Louisiana legislature officially designated Breaux Bridge as “la capitale Mondiale de l’ecrevisse” or “the crawfish capital of the world.”
